PORTRAIT AND REPORTAGE PHOTOGRAPHER.
Thierry Bouët gets his inspiration from the people meets, their successes, their failures, the irony of their lives and their enviroments.
His ongoing project is a photographic journey around the world, looking for emblematic peace places. This image of a white flag on a Mediterranean shore is the first photograph of this series.
Thierry focuses on people belonging to communities without knowing each other. His last work “private affairs” is a series of portraits of individuals selling items online. A solo exhibition took place during the 2015 edition of the Rencontres d’Arles, and a book is published at Editions Xavier Barral.
In 2011, Thierry Bouët has been conferred the distinction of Knight of the Order of Arts and Letters by the french minister of Culture, Mr. Fréderic Mitterand.
Inspired by ONUART’s work, Thierry Bouët went looking for a way to represent peace. He hoists a while flag on monuments, historical places and emblematic sites. He photographed this symbol on the mast of a Mediterranean beach.
A few weeks later, the image of a stranded child on a Mediterranean shore hits the news worldwide. This photograph is the first of a series which will be published in a book and will be exhibited in shows.
