The oboe performer Cristina Gómez Godoy combines the brilliance of her technique with a high degree of musical expressiveness and her amazing virtuosity with a great artistic sensitivity. In 2012, at the age of 21, she joined the Staatskapelle Berlin as an English soloist. In 2013 Cristina Gómez was appointed as an oboe soloist in the orchestra. Despite her youth, Cristina Gómez Godoy has appeared as a soloist in a multitude of orchestras. Highlights of Cristina Gomez for 2016 and 2017 include her debut as a soloist with the Helsinki Philharmonic Orchestra and several joint appearances with Daniel Barenboim for the opening of Pierre Boulez Hall, Berlin’s spectacular new concert hall.
Born in 1990 in Linares, she studied at the Academy of Orchestral Studies of the Barenboim Said Foundation in Seville and later at the Academy of Music and Theater in Rostock, with Gregor Witt. Cristina Gómez Godoy lives in Berlin and plays an oboe Ludwig Frank model Brilliant.
