Goal
To promote the presence of art in the domain of the United Nations, to favour understanding between cultures and societies and to promote principles that inspire the development of Human Rights
Mission
To strengthen the value of art as a catalyst for dialogue. Through art we stimulate debate at the highest level to inspire tolerance and understanding between Nations and cultures within all international organisations, seeking to achieve a more creative and less conventional approximation to each negotiation and each debate
Vision
To drive forward, promote, fund, organise or collaborate in actions that contribute to the artistic and heritage enrichment of the United Nations or other International Bodies
The Room for the Human Rights and the Alliance of Civilizations
Spain committed itself in 2007 to completely remodel Room XX of the United Nations Palace, which would be renamed the Human Rights Room and the Alliance of Civilizations. Along with the remodeling, Spain undertook to donate to the United Nations a great artistic work that would be incorporated into the vault of the room. The selected work was the “Organic Project” of Miquel Barceló and the development of the project was carried out by the ONUART Foundation.
Concert for the Human Rights
It was 100 years since the beginning of the First World War, 75 years after the beginning of the Second World War, 70 years after the creation of the United Nations and 5 years since the inauguration of the Human Rights Chamber and the Alliance of Civilizations. It was time to propose to the Director General of the United Nations in Geneva, the celebration of a relevant act in the Chamber, and that act was the celebration of a concert for Peace and Human Rights, which would take place on December 10 , World Day of Human Rights. A concert that celebrated its second edition on October 31, 2015 and the third on December 10, 2016. A concert that is on track to become a tradition.

First Mediterranean Concert, for the meeting of Mediterranean cultures
Starting from the idea of using art as a powerful engine for the development and promotion of societies, the Onuart Foundation decided to promote a new event: the union of music and art in favor of understanding between civilizations. Specifically among the Mediterranean civilizations. The event in question was the First Mediterranean Concert, in charge of a large group of artists from different countries of the Mediterranean basin. A concert that begins with a first edition in the symbolic Hall of Human Rights and the Alliance of Civilizations and whose future editions are presented in historical places in the Mediterranean.
The Silk Road Concert
The encounter between East and West through the Silk Road, marked a new phase in the development and knowledge between both worlds. The world changed for the better as the borders were diluted and cultures came closer. Today, five hundred years later, the “New Silk Road” is about knowledge and communication. As in the time when large caravans brought silk and porcelain from the East to the rest of the world, today a greater knowledge and encounter between cultures will once again be the key to increasing development and prosperity. And in this process of fruitful interaction, the diffusion of art, as a universal language of creativity, respect and emotion, contributes to a healthy healthy of peoples, cultures, citizens and sensibilities.
